Welding School

Finding employment in the Lake Atitlán region can be challenging for those with limited skills or education.

Our Welding School provides local people with the opportunity to learn a trade that is both profitable and relevant to the region. Students learn how to properly use different welding equipment and techniques to build a variety of projects. Following these lessons, they not only learn to weld, but they also learn to design and get creative in their welding.

Students work on projects which they design, budget for, and then weld themselves. By acquiring these skills, students have an advantage when looking for jobs in the many welding shops in the region that are constantly in need of skilled welders.

Here are some ways that you can support the Welding School.

  • Provide a general donation to the program via the Support a Program Interface
  • Donate tools and safety equipment to our students. For more info about shipping and accepted goods click here
